EMG506 PGL

Mid-July 2016

The EMG506 unit enables students to plan and execute a small desk-based inquiry project providing them with the opportunity to increase their knowledge of an aspect of education and training and global learning. Students will negotiate the nature and length of their project with the Unit Coordinator who will supervise and assess the project. The project will involve a synthesis of literature to address an inquiry question developed with the supervisor.
The learning outcomes of this unit are as follow:
  1. Develop a focused inquiry topic in consultation with your supervisor.
  2. Analyse and evaluate literature relevant to the topic.
  3. Report the results of this study in a format appropriate to share with a professional audience.
End of July 2016

This unit will be conducted by Dr. Nicoli B. A Senior Lecturer in Education (Inclusion and Special Education). Her research has focused on young people in disadvantaged circumstances. Her doctoral research was based with Youth and explored how some of the most disadvantaged young people in Australia were able to be reconciled with their education. I am looking forward to fruitful exchanges on issues related to Human Rights, poverty alleviation and mentoring programmes for Indigenous young people.

As the unit is at the initial phase. I have to make myself familiar with the materials and people working in this unit. I also, have to download and read the Unit Information document. Make sure I understand the requirements of the unit and marked the CDU week dates and assignment due dates in the personal calendar.
